How long does a pool have to stay empty?

The pool is not visibly leaking, just losing water. Is it worth doing?
Usually yes. Steady loss through the shell or the inlets shows up on the water bill long before it shows up as a stain, and left alone it saturates the structure around the pool.
Is the lining safe for swimmers?
The systems we use are rated for permanent immersion and potable contact, and the pool is flushed before it is refilled for use.
